As the 2012 summer roles(d) along there were lots of celebrations,
fairs, birthday parties, etc going on. Here's a sampling from the lot.
2012-05-27: Golden Gate Bridge 75th Anniversary
Celebration. We opted to avoid the traffic around the bridge and head to someplace
relaxing to watch. We drove out to Tiburon to hang on the grass by the water
with some friends. The bridge was too far to see the spectacle, but the music
was piped in so we hear the music and enjoy the timing. That's the bridge in
the background.
2012-05-27: It was better in person. And
my camera battery ran out soon after we got there. :(
2012-06-23: The Sonoma County Fair. In
our opinion the best for rides and games.

2012-06-23: Since Sonoma is wine and farm
country the county fair had its full share of farming demonstrations and activities.
Anthony found out about the Kiddie Tractor Pull Race and just HAD to do it.
Here's the video of him up against another his age. Anthony is on the left.
If he had peddled just a half peddle more, then he would have qualified for
the
next
round. He
said
it got really hard towards the end, but I think he stopped when the other kid
stopped.
2012-06-23: But he got his ribbon for trying.
2012-06-23: And, of course, we got some
prizes to take home.
2012-06-30: The Marin County Fair. It's
right down the road from our house, so it's easy to get to. We went in the
early evening to hit as many rides as possible before the fireworks show at
night. They do the same firework show from opening night of the fair to the
end. Here's a vid of us on the swings.

throughout the evening.

2012-07-04: For the actual 4th we joined
some friends on top of a hill overlooking the fireworks show. No need to pay
to get in.
