2009-12-15: Mommy's Knee and a Christmas Party!
So....Mommy fell and broke
her knee cap. She also severed a few ligaments. It wasn't a pleasant surgery.
We finally brought Mommy home on Thanksgiving Day. And here's what happened next:
Daddy got Mommy settled in bed; Uncle David prepared the turkey and left to return
later; the oven door broke; while fixing it the flimsy turkey pan developed a
hole; turkey juice burned all over the bottom of the oven; smoke everywhere;
mad scramble to fix turkey and oven and take care of Mommy by Daddy all by himself;
Thanksgiving dinner saved; that night Anthony developed stomach flu with diarrhea
and vomiting (a lot); next day Daddy got it too (wasn't food poisoning); day
after that Mommy got it too, and she's bed ridden; 36 hours more with tons of
puking and shitting buy everyone; clean up was done by Daddy.....by himself….no
one else helped (multiple bedding changes, floor mishaps, washing out diarrhea
laden clothes, cleaning toilets from vomit spray, giving Anthony showers to hose
off the poopoo, etc, etc, etc); No pictures from that time period (sorry); Anthony
lost

Grandma

arrived
to
help just as everyone started feeling better; Grandma P promptly got the same
stomach
flu; everyone is better now. .........Our tree this year had to be small due
to
Mommy
needing room to move around in her wheelchair. Anthony has taken to chasing/racing
Mommy on his bike while she's in her chair. ........On Dec 15th we went to Anthony's
School's annual Christmas party. It was very low key and pot lucky, but it was
fun. There's some video below.
